FT817OS VFO MEMORY Directories

There are 4 types of VFO memory. Each have their own directory

VFO A
VFO B
VFO MTQMB
VFO MTUNE

VFO A / B are identical in functionality......

At the memory prompt type either vfo a or vfo b or vfo mtune or vfo mtqmb

[FT817]@/dev/ttyUSB0/MEMORY:# vfo a
[FT817]@/dev/ttyUSB0/MEMORY[VFO:A]:#

The directory label will change showing that you are in that VFO. VFO A and B require a band to be given as the next subdirectory.  The latter two options do not require a band. For VFO A/B type help to see a list of valid bands

[FT817]@/dev/ttyUSB0/MEMORY[VFO:A]:# help

CHOOSE A BAND FOR VFO(A)

160m  75m  40m  30m  20m  17m  15m  12m  10m  6m  FM BCB  AIR  2m  UHF  PHANTOM

exit           Go Back one directory

[FT817]@/dev/ttyUSB0/MEMORY[VFO:A]:#

Once a band is chosen the directory label will change yet again

[FT817]@/dev/ttyUSB0/MEMORY[VFO:A]:# 40m
[FT817]@/dev/ttyUSB0/MEMORY[VFO:A][40m]:#

This shows that you are in the VFO A 40M directory. Type help to see a list of options

Typing show will show the settings for the given area

If the current VFO you are editing is A, the program will toggle the VFO to B while writing the changes and vice versa.  The same is for MTQMB and MTUNE except they do not require a band

You do not need to go back a directory to change the current vfo you wish to edit just type the vfo on the command line.  for example to change from vfo a to b

[FT817]@/dev/ttyUSB0/MEMORY[VFO:A]:# vfo b
[FT817]@/dev/ttyUSB0/MEMORY[VFO:B]:#
