Telefunken Concertino 7 Repair Series

This series documents the repair of my Telefunken Concertino 7 Radio which supported FM VHF AM Shortwave Longwave as well as many surprising features for a 1950's radio.   I had cosmetically restored this radio in Germany but had never done any electronic restoration.

Yamaha 650 Quick Carburetor Clean / Repair Series

Seems to be given any amount of time that the jets in the emulsion tube of each carb will clog causing the engine to die just off idle.  Even if the carbs are perfectly clean, this issue causes an interesting closure to form, a perfect circle which reduces the jet size in a uniform fashion.  For these situations it is not necessary to remove the carbs from the bike, and a quick clean of these particular jets can be accomplished.

This Three part series described the whole procedure in detail

Commodore 64 Halloween special - Power supplies of Death

This is my attempt at special effects.   Something you will be surprised to know that I don't do professionally.  I do however know a crappy ass power supply when I see one.   You will however find within the video that although both the top and bottom of the sine wave is employed in the rectification for DC I make an observation strictly from a parts perspective (or lack thereof) with regard to their missing diodes, versus a 4 diode bridge rectifier.  All across the internet Pocket protectors spontaneously combusted, slide rules exploded.  Good thing I don't discuss Politics here.  The internet is a rough place, even in ubergeekdom.

Super Serial Switch Setting Status

Ok, So I thought i'd bring this all together and try out just a few more tricks before moving onto something more comprehensive.  Having automatically identified the slot assignment and storing the value in zp SLOT $07 we can do some useful things with it Like retrieve and decode the status of the dip switches on the Super serial card.

VW / Porsche VDO Clock repair

This clock came out of Johns mid 70's Westfailia bus.  When I had received it it was non operational though I was advised that an attempt was made to replace the two electrolytic capacitors as recommended on a website.  This is where the adventure begins.

Super Serial Makes a Personal Discovery

This seems like the next possible task for such a device. I've kept a yellow post-it note under the monitor with a listing of what card resides in which slot and have often lost it. Having to then remove the monitor to retake inventory of the system.  This seemed like a good time for the next evolution of code, definitely not as complicated as the IRQ issue, but requiring some thought, none the less.

In the next project we auto detect the SSC card and store the slot

Super Simple Super Serial Sample Source

I have struggled to find the most basic of information about Apple II related machine coding information. Its not as freely available as people would like to have themselves believe it is. In searching, having often found the same struggles of others in the past, some who had given up years ago for lack of understanding or availability of information. While that is subjective, there is as it seems, a complete black hole with regard to several facets of the platform
