2019 Jetta S Feature Review

Today I take a rare plunge into automotive review, instead of repairs, to discuss how pleasantly surprised I was when I started going through the 2019 VW Jetta S M/T. My friend Jeff from the old hood, and my wife join me for this video extravaganza.

If you are one of those rare folks left on the planet who still insists on a manual transmission you might have noticed selection is getting sparse. Its been sparse for quite some time...  When you can find a car maker that produces one, its either the high end model or the bargain basement model.  You know the model, the one that still has crank windows, kerosene headlights, and milk crates for seats.

Unbelievable however, is that the Jetta S, basically in a nutshell, comes standard with all of the features that one would expect from the top trim model only 10 years ago.  You'll find I go into specifics where required and glaze over the usual options quickly which everyone knows about.

I do however go into greater detail with the ECO system because it required research as its not actually posted anywhere on the web with meaningful data.   Especially, how it interacts with a manual transmission. That, I had to do a bit of figuring our for myself.

When I made the movie, as shown, the 7 mile in city loop (Florida county faux city) produced (on a warm engine) an efficiency of 47mpg

I can now post that a drive consisting of 95% highway has produced a value of 52mpg. No, its NOT a diesel.

No, its NOT a diesel.
No, its NOT a diesel.
